Marvic specialises in the design, production and distribution of the best luxury woven and printed fabrics in the interiors industry and have become known for creating timeless classics with an enduring appeal. Marvic Textiles was founded by Victor Afia in 1938 with his aim being to offer furnishing fabrics imported from Europe that were superior in style and quality. Today the London based business is run by his son, Peter Afia, who offers exclusive designs to the domestic and export markets. Marvic is one of the few remaining privately owned British fabric houses and we pride ourselves on truly genuine personal service and attention to detail.
We supply internationally acclaimed designers, discerning consumers, hotel groups, including Firmdale, Red Carnation and Rocco Forte, and a number of leading 5-star hotels around the world. Also, many of our designs can be found in the country’s most famous ancestral homes including Buckingham Palace, Sandringham and Althorp.
The Marvic Design Studio, established in 1986, comprises a talented in-house team who constantly work on new designs for both fabrics and wallpaper. Inspiration is often taken from antique textiles to create timeless classics with a modern twist.
Our skilfully developed collections include exceptional quality upholstery fabrics, velvets and damasks, and we are also particularly well known for our unrivalled collections of Toiles de Jouy designs, moiré fabrics and luxurious crewels. In recent years our contemporary collection has grown to include cutting-edge, textured neutrals and fine embroideries. Our in-house design studio enables us to offer a truly bespoke design service for both domestic and contract markets. As part of this service we can reproduce historic designs for ancestral homes, and also adapt the colours or qualities of current Marvic designs to meet the specifications of an individual project.
Marvic works with leading specialist manufacturers in Britain, France, Belgium, Italy and India to create the finest range of high quality fabrics and wallpapers.
Specialist weavers in France, Belgium and Italy work with the finest yarns and utilise cutting edge technology to develop beautiful, luxurious qualities for us. Our hand-embroidered crewels are made in Kashmir, where craftsmen continue to employ traditional techniques dating back to the 18th century. Our relationships with our manufacturers are integral to the success of our collections, and we undertake regular visits to supervise development and production.
Our extensive collection of fabrics and wallpapers are held at our warehouse in West London and from here we dispatch all samples and orders. As a small, family-run company, we are in a position to react fast and efficiently to enquiries and specific requests.
The site is also home to our head office, including the sales team, design studio and our design archive which dates back to when the company was founded. By keeping all operations in one location, we can offer the personal, flexible service our customers enjoy and expect.
